Credits Track Real Usage
Each task is charged for the tokens it actually used, at its model's published rate.
Every task spends credits for the model usage it actually needs. Here's how a credit moves through RenOS, from the admin's first top-up to the record an auditor reads.
Step by Step
Seven steps, from the admin's billing page to the moment a team hits its cap. These are the screens your admin and your team actually see.
The admin tops up by card, or by invoice on Enterprise. Auto top-up keeps the balance from running dry.
The admin sets monthly budgets per team and per user, with alerts as they fill. Agent tasks get a hard ceiling so a runaway loop can't drain the balance. See the admin dashboard.
Every data class gets its own list of allowed models. Regulated data stays on approved models or your own keys. See policy routing.
A team member runs a task. Policy picks the model, explains why in plain language, and places a hold for the estimated cost before anything runs.
When the task finishes, RenOS charges for the tokens actually used, releases the rest of the hold, and updates team and organization balances.
Cost becomes part of the record: who ran what, on which model, under which policy, and what it cost. See the AI audit trail.
When a team reaches its cap, work pauses instead of overspending. People can pick a lower-cost model or ask the budget owner to approve more.
Key Ideas
Each task is charged for the tokens it actually used, at its model's published rate.
The estimated cost is reserved first, so a task never starts without budget to finish.
Every task's credits sit next to the model and policy that chose it.
Teams can't overspend. Owners approve increases, and agent runs stop at their ceiling.
A credit is the unit RenOS uses for model usage. Each task spends credits based on the tokens it actually used. See RenOS pricing for plans.
The hold reserves the estimated cost so the task can finish within budget. When it's done, RenOS charges actual usage and releases the rest.
Work pauses instead of overspending. The person can switch to a lower-cost model or ask the budget owner to approve a one-time increase.
No. Each agent task has a hard ceiling, and the run stops when it reaches it.
